Farewell Dinner for Shrimati Amrita Dash
On 21 May 2025, the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Malaysia hosted a farewell dinner in honour of Amrita Dash, Counsellor at the High Commission of India in Malaysia, in recognition of her service and engagement with the Malaysian Indian community. The dinner was held at Bangsar Village.
The gathering was led by GOPIO Malaysia Treasurer and GOPIO International Secretary-General, Ravendiran Arjunan, and attended by a small group of eight participants, including GOPIO representatives and close collaborators.
Recognising Diplomatic Engagement
The evening provided an opportunity to acknowledge Shrimati Amrita Dash’s contributions during her tenure in Malaysia, particularly her support for community engagement initiatives and her constructive collaboration with diaspora organisations.
In her capacity as Counsellor at the High Commission of India in Malaysia, she played an important role in strengthening links between the diplomatic mission and community organisations such as GOPIO Malaysia, helping to facilitate dialogue and cooperation on various initiatives.
