The Launching of the GOPIO International Expo & Business Summit

The GOPIO International Expo & Business Summit was officially launched on 18th September 2023 at the Royal Selangor Club, Kuala Lumpur. This event marked a pivotal step in introducing and promoting the Expo and Summit to key stakeholders and the wider business community. The initiative aimed to highlight the potential of the People of Indian Origin (PIO) network in facilitating global business collaborations and partnerships.

The launch was graced by H.E. Mr. B.N. Reddy, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, who emphasised the importance of initiatives like this in strengthening ties between India and Malaysia. The event was also attended by officials from the High Commission of India and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, further underscoring the significance of the occasion.

Over 100 attendees participated, including prominent PIO business leaders, representatives from non-governmental organisations, and government officials. Their presence reflected the event’s purpose of fostering dialogue, networking, and business synergies.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Gunasekaren Sreerangan, Chairman of the GOPIO International Business Council, and was meticulously organised to ensure its success. Attendees engaged in meaningful discussions, explored partnership opportunities, and aligned on a shared vision of leveraging the PIO network to drive economic and social development.
