ADAMAS School of Weddings has teamed up with Open University Malaysia’s (OUM) School of Lifelong Learning to offer vocational students, budding entrepreneurs and aspiring wedding planners the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications in weddings and events management.

Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly offer three certification courses; the Career Certificate in Weddings Management (a Level One programme for entrepreneurs who wish to acquire basic technical knowledge of the profession), Advance Certificate in Weddings Management and Executive Diploma in Weddings and Events Management.

The Executive Diploma programme incorporates additional practical projects and mock case studies that is designed to give students an advantage in their chosen profession.

“We are confident that the programmes offered will go a long way in supporting our ongoing mission of creating industry-relevant courses and in supplying the necessary talent for the wedding planning industry,” said OUM vice president (Business Development) Repin Ibrahim.

Adamas Weddings Sdn Bhd founder Dr Khoo Kien Ling was pleased that the course syllabus created has received recognition and accreditation by the varsity.

“I have always been passionate about elevating the status of the wedding planning industry to be on par with other professions.

“With this new partnership, students and graduates of the wedding planning courses can have greater access to research and library facilities and thus, look forward to better recognition,” she said.
