GOPIO International Business Expo 2023

The GOPIO International Business Expo, hosted from December 1st to 3rd at the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, was organized jointly by GOPIO Malaysia and GOPIO International. The event aimed to foster business collaborations, promote investment opportunities, and build global partnerships among People of Indian Origin (PIOs) and their countries of residence, including Malaysia and India.

The expo featured 25 booths showcasing a diverse array of products and services from companies across India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia.  Notable exhibitors included: The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur (India), National Cancer Society Malaysia (Malaysia), Bhora Holdings (Malaysia), Thulija Technologies Malaysia (Malaysia), Mars Sigma Solutions Pvt. Ltd (India), GOPIO Malaysia (Malaysia), GOPIO Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka), Industrial Extension Bureau, Gujarat (India), CardKins (Singapore), Brickfields Asia College (Malaysia), Good Fat (Malaysia), Be Bullet Exports (India), Sri Kolhapuri The Doll Factory (India), 5K Car Care Private Limited (India), Metamorphosis (India), Puducherry Tourism (India), Jubilant (India), Sree Herbolight Herbal Products (India), Anantharam (India) and Thenneera Coco Nectar (India).

These exhibitors represented various sectors including tourism, IT services, higher education, health and wellness products, and cultural artifacts, creating a platform for delegates to explore a wide range of offerings and opportunities.

The expo and summit attracted 259 domestic participants and 169 international participants from countries including Malaysia, India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Japan. This diverse participation facilitated networking, knowledge exchange, and potential business ventures, contributing to the event’s global appeal.

Beyond its immediate impact, the GOPIO International Business Expo 2023 laid a foundation for future editions. By promoting cross-border collaborations and highlighting Malaysia’s strategic role as a hub for PIO economic activities, the event set a precedent for continued growth and engagement. It aimed to deepen economic integration within the PIO diaspora worldwide, fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation that extends beyond national boundaries.

Looking forward, future editions of the Expo are poised to build upon this success, further strengthening economic cooperation and promoting cultural exchange within the global PIO community. By expanding its reach and scope, GOPIO aims to play a pivotal role in advancing mutual prosperity and sustainable development across participating countries.
