On 30 May 2025, Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Malaysia organised the GOPIO Malaysia Entrepreneur Forum, Networking Dinner & Awards 2025 at the Royal Selangor Club, located at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together 220 participants, making it one of the largest business-focused gatherings organised by GOPIO Malaysia.
The programme was led by GOPIO Malaysia Business Council Chairman, Sivem Dorairajah, and was organised in collaboration with the GOPIO International Business Council. The gathering attracted entrepreneurs, business leaders, professionals, and community representatives from across Malaysia.
A Platform for Ideas, Recognition, and Networking
The event was graced by the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, B. N. Reddy, who attended as the Chief Guest. His presence reflected the importance of strengthening business ties and encouraging entrepreneurial collaboration within the diaspora community.
The Entrepreneur Forum segment featured discussions and exchanges of ideas on contemporary business trends, innovation, and opportunities for diaspora-led enterprises. This was followed by a networking dinner, which provided participants with an opportunity to build professional relationships and explore potential collaborations.
A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards recognising outstanding entrepreneurs, celebrating individuals whose efforts have contributed to business development and community advancement.

Given the positive response from participants, GOPIO Malaysia plans to institutionalise the Entrepreneur Awards as an annual programme, supported by clear and transparent nomination guidelines to ensure credibility and broad participation.
