16th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Madhya Pradesh India

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convened by the government of India, took place from January 7th to 9th, 2023 in Madhya Pradesh, India. GOPIO Malaysia, in collaboration with fellow NGOs, including the India Malaysia Heritage Society, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Malaysia Association of Indian University Graduates (MAIUG), brought together 61 participants to the PBD.

The inaugural ceremony, held on January 7th, witnessed the august presence of Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, who officiated the proceedings. During the valedictory ceremony on January 9th, the President of India conferred the prestigious Saman Awards, thereby lending an aura of eminence to the prestigious event.

The PBD 2023 germinated a formalised Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between GOPIO and the Madhya Pradesh Government on cooperation in the tourism sector. In the aftermath of the PBD, the GOPIO Dialogue with the Government of India took place in the majestic state of Madhya Pradesh on 10^th January 2023.
