The GOPIO International Business Expo 2023, held from 1st to 3rd December at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, served as a pivotal platform to enhance international business collaborations and promote enterprises led by People of Indian Origin (PIO). Organised by the GOPIO International Business Council, with the support of the High Commission of India, the Government of Puducherry, and First World Community, the event attracted exhibitors and delegates from India, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. Key partners such as Tourism Malaysia, the National Land Financing Cooperative Society, and Brickfields Asia College (BAC) reinforced Malaysia’s standing as a global business hub.
The expo was open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on all three days, featuring 25 booths that highlighted an extensive array of products and services spanning tourism, IT, healthcare, and education. Noteworthy exhibitors included Puducherry Tourism, which showcased India’s travel opportunities, alongside enterprises such as 5K Car Care Private Limited, Sree Herbolight Herbal Products, and Mars Sigma Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Additional contributions from Thenneera Coco Nectar, Sri Kolhapuri The Doll Factory, and Be Bullet Exports added cultural and entrepreneurial variety to the event.
Malaysia’s involvement was equally significant, with exhibitors such as Brickfields Asia College (BAC) representing the education sector and Thulija Technologies highlighting IT solutions. International participants, including CardKins from Singapore and GOPIO Sri Lanka, further strengthened cross-border ties. The High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur underscored India’s commitment to strategic engagement in the region.
The expo provided an engaging environment where delegates interacted with exhibitors through brochures, catalogues, and dynamic displays, creating valuable opportunities for collaboration. It facilitated productive exchanges among industry leaders, reinforcing Malaysia’s reputation as a preferred destination for global trade and business.
