Film Exhibition

A special Film Exhibition took place from September 14 to 16, 2024, at Ramakrishna Hall, co-organized by the Malaysian Indian Heritage Society and Vanvim Studio, with the support of FINAS. The event served as a tribute to the remarkable contributions of PIO filmmakers in Malaysia, drawing about 500 visitors. Featuring an engaging array of activities, the exhibition included screenings of classic and contemporary films that reflected the narratives and themes resonating within the PIO community.

The exhibition celebrated the legacy of Malaysian cinema by spotlighting the contributions of iconic Malaysian actors from the past and showcasing the achievements of prominent PIO directors in Malay cinema. Visitors were captivated by these stories of cinematic pioneers, whose work has shaped and enriched the local film industry over the decades. The displays offered an opportunity to learn about the cultural and creative impact of PIO artists on Malaysian cinema.

Adding a historical dimension to the event, the exhibition featured a fascinating collection of vintage film cameras and related artifacts.
