15th GOPIO International Convention Inaugural

The 15th GOPIO International Convention was inaugurated on September 13, 2024, at Dewan Kampo, International Youth Centre (IYC), Cheras. Organized by GOPIO International in collaboration with GOPIO Malaysia and the Indian High Commission to Malaysia, the event revolved around the theme “Unity in Diversity: Strengthening the Global Indian Network.” The convention brought together over 300 delegates and guests, including dignitaries from Malaysia and representatives from the embassies of Mauritius and Sri Lanka.

Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, graced the event as the Chief Guest. GOPIO Secretary General A. Ravendiran Arjunan coordinated the convention, which served as a platform to strengthen global ties among People of Indian Origin (PIOs) in various fields, including arts, culture, business, education, and emerging technologies.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of GOPIO Malaysia’s Founding Members for their significant contributions. The convention not only celebrated the achievements of the Indian diaspora but also fostered collaborations and partnerships that aim to enhance the global PIO network.
