The OCI Card Briefing Webinar II, organized by GOPIO Malaysia, was held on April 30, 2024, via Zoom to educate and guide people of Indian origin and their spouses on the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card. The session, attended by 268 participants, focused on the eligibility criteria, application process, and long-term benefits of the OCI card.
The event began with a Welcome Address by Secretary General Sashidharan Santhesegaran, followed by detailed presentations by esteemed OCI consultants Mr. Maniventheran and Ms. Loga Devi. Participants gained insights into the privileges offered by the Indian government, such as long-term residency, work rights, and access to economic and educational opportunities. Personal experiences shared by attendees highlighted common challenges in the application process, offering valuable lessons and solutions.
The webinar provided practical and actionable guidance, equipping participants with the knowledge needed to navigate the OCI application process. Concluding with plans for follow-up sessions, the event aimed to offer tailored assistance, ensuring a smoother experience for future applicants.
