Balachander Periasamy, born in 1965, was named after the famous Indian movie director, K. Balachander. As the motive behind his naming, Balachander became interested in movie since his school days.
Within a short span of time, Balachander ventured into many businesses, i.e. planting his own mushrooms, supplying coconuts to all the temples in Klang Valley etc.…. but all that interests faded away as quickly as it came.
In early 80s and 90s, indoor and outdoor advertisements are merely by hand paintings. Classic Billboards embarked into Cinema advertising, hand painting the publicity materials for their movie releases.
By the year 2010, P. Balachander. managing director and the brainchild behind classic billboards has brought the company into the international foray by exporting banners to more than 55 countries worldwide for Warner Bros. International, 20th Century Fox Film, Buena Vista Tristar, Nusantara Edaran Film, United international pictures, Lotus Five Star, etc.….
As difficult as it may be, P. Balachander’s passion keeps him active and fresh with new ideas for classic billboards and adding another interest in his life as pass tie – breeding exotic avifauna.
