GOPIO Malaysia Youth is organising the first GOPIO Malaysia Youth Conference (GMYC) on Saturday 12th June 2021 from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm, online via zoom. GMYC is to bring together Malaysian Indian youths from across the country to discuss and share ideas on various issues regarding the wellbeing of Malaysian Indian youths and the Nation.

GMYC 2021 Keynote Address and Official Opening is by Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports YB Senator Tuan Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Bin Wan Ahmad Kamal. 

This virtual conference shall instigate friendship and volunteering spirit among Malaysian Indian youth, despite the pandemic circumstances which limits their physical movement. Over three hundred (300) youths aged between 18 and 25 from across the country are to take part in the Conference.

The purpose of GMYC is to forge relationships with Malaysian Indian youth from various NGOs and institutions of higher learning to share new and thoughtful ideas to motivate the progress of society and the Nation. GMYC is to discuss various issues on the well-being of Malaysian Indian youth across the Nation through effective communication processes. GMYC aims to create a batch of young men and women who have the potential to take on leadership roles in various fields and organisations.

There are four (4) key areas discussed in GMYC:

  • Career options and business choices for tomorrow.
  • Financial, physical and mental health for wholesome wellbeing.
  • Preservation of traditions and heritage for future generations.
  • Preservation of nature and environmental sustainability.
