The 9th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention is scheduled to be held at Vigyan  Bhawan, New Delhi on  7- 9 January 2011 with special focus on north eastern states of India.This annual Convention provide the largest  platform to the PlOs and NRIs for exchange of views and networking on matters of common interest.

A one day Conference; PIOs Dialogue with India organised by GOPIO International is held on the 10th Jan 2011.

ManaliManali is situated near the end of the valley on the National Highway leading to Leh. The landscape here is breath taking. One sees well-defined snow capped peaks, the Beas river with its clear water meanders through the town.On the other side are deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards. Manali, at the northern end of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, is a hill station situated at a height of 2050 m (6398 ft) in the Himalayas. Situated on the Beas river (Vyaas in Hindi) and near its source, it is a popular tourist spot for Indians in summer and a magical, snow-covered place in winter.

ShimlaThe British called Shimla the “Queen of Hill Stations.” Situated in the north-West Himalayas, Shimla the summer capital of India  before independence. Shimla is surrounded by pine, deodar, oak  and rhododendron forests. Its well developed facilities, easy  accessibility and numerous attractions make it one of Indian’s  most popular and biggest hill-stations.

Shimla is the capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. It is a very popular holiday-retreat during the summer months and is well-known for its Victorian architecture, which is reflected in certain areas of the Mall and The Ridge. It is also a famous holiday spot for honeymoon. There are quite a few theories regarding the origin of the word Shimla. Locals insist that the name originates from Shyamali Devi, a re-incarnation of the fearsome Goddess Kali.

Akshardham TempleAkshardham Temple is the most beautiful and most recently built  temple in Delhi with many ritual values. The temple is made up of  stones only without using any kind of steel, only sandstone and  marble have been used. There are over 20,000 statues and  figurines of god and goddess, eleven 72-foot-high enormous domes (Mandapams) and attractive arches and a double storied parikrama  of red stonework surround the monuments with over 155 tiny domes and 1,160 pillars. It is truly one of the Wonders of the World.
