Kuala Lumpur, May 2 (ANI): A wide range of bilateral issues are likely to be discussed during the fifth India-Malaysia Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) to be held tomorrow in Malaysia.

The meeting would discuss the way forward for the strategic partnership agreed upon by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during their consultations in New Delhi and Kuala Lumpur in January and October last year.

External Affairs Minister S M Krishna, will lead the Indian side at the talks while his Malaysian counterpart Anifah Aman will head the host country’s delegation.

Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia Vijay Gokhale said the JCM was significant following the signing of the long-awaited Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) between both countries on Feb 18.he CECA would come into force on July 1 and both sides were currently working to complete several procedures, The Star quoted Gokhale, as saying.Krishna’s trip within six months of the visit by Manmohan Singh is an indication of the high priority that India attaches to its relations with Malaysia,” said Gokhale.

He said both ministers would also give their input on other economic agreements that were being planned. (ANI)
