World’s 4th Richest Man Mukesh Rates Malaysia Highly, Keen To Expand Business

MUMBAI, March 9 (Bernama) — Mukesh Ambani, the world’s fourth richest man has expressed interest to expand his existing business operations in Malaysia while exploring other potential areas.

Chairman and managing director of India’s conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd, Mukesh, impressed by Malaysia pro-investors policies proposed to expand its textile operations in Nilai.

“I am happy that Mr Ambani will continue to give priority to Malaysia. He will like to see new areas that can be tapped.

“He said Malaysia was the best destination for investors in Asean,” Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin told Malaysian reporters in Mumbai Wednesday.

Muhyiddin, currently on a five-day visit to three Indian cities held talks with Mukesh and another Indian industrialist Ratan Tata.

The heavily diversified Reliance is also keen to explore petro-chemicals, education and the development of the Greater Kuala Lumpur (KL) project and inter city connectivity to make KL a global city.

The talks are still in “exploratory stage” and Mukesh is likely to visit Malaysia soon.
